Henrik Placht is a leading Norwegian contemporary artist known for his colorful, expressive style and distinctive sense of composition. His work explores human emotion, harmony, and tension through vivid forms and layered meaning.

Educated at the Art Academies in Bergen and Berlin, Placht has exhibited internationally and is represented in major collections including the Astrup Fearnley Museum, the National Museum, and the International Peace Institute in New York.

A dedicated cultural bridge-builder, he played a central role in establishing the International Academy of Art in Ramallah and has collaborated with artists like Yoko Ono and Malcolm McLaren. He has also taught at institutions such as Columbia University and Bezalel Academy in Tel Aviv.

Placht remains a vital voice in contemporary art, celebrated for his bold visual language and deep belief in art’s power to connect people across borders.
