Kari-Lena Flåten

Kari lena flåten

Kari-Lena Flåten is a Norwegian artist living and working between Oslo and Málaga. She studied art and design in Lund, Sweden, and sculpture at Central Saint Martins in London, following a degree in children’s welfare from Oslo Metropolitan University.

Her work draws inspiration from human interaction, especially with children, whose strength and vulnerability often coexist. She works with sculpture, painting, and various graphic techniques. Each sculpture is cast in a limited edition of no more than eight.

“I admire the children`s strength and strategy to survive. They stand so strong and fragile at the same time. This I try to capture and recreate, as to shape a voice of the children.”

Her art has been exhibited in Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Italy, Spain, and Austria, and is part of several public and private collections.
